Jamie Oliver and his wife Jools are hoping baby number three will be a boy

As Jools Oliver shows off her growing baby bump, husband Jamie Oliver has revealed that he hopes their child will be a baby boy.Jools is reportedly due to give birth in March next year. She and Jamie already have two daughters, six year-old Poppy Honey and five-year-old Daisy Boo.
"It would be great to have a boy,as I am in a totally oestrogen-filled house. But i really don't mind as long as it's healthy,"celebrity chef Jamie told the media."I won't be suffering to many sleepless nights when the new baby comes because Jools is brilliant about getting the kids into a routine. We are very excited ,expecially as it's not been easy for us to have them".
Jools,a 34 -year old formel model, had had to go undergo intense fertility treatment to conceive Poppy and Daisy as she suffers from polycystic ovaries, but their latest baby was reportedly conceived naturally.
Jamie,32,had admitted that he would consider adopting a son if they cannot have one biologically ."If i can't produce a boy I will have to adopt one.I would consider it,"he said."We have tow beautiful, healthy girls and we cherish them. But I'd be lying if I said it wouldn't be great to have a boy.
Jools would like to have another child but there are so many vulnerable orphans out there.Jools and I need to sit down and have a very serious conversation about it."
Earlier this year,Jools had revealed :"I would love more kids but number three is taking longer than I thought. If i have to go through the fertility drugs again,I will."
She also spoke out against rumours that she and Jamie's marriage was in trouble."It sounds old-fashioned but I think when you're with someone like Jamie, you need a wife like me.I'm in the background ,making sure the kids are in bed and everyone's happy. There is nothing I would rather do.
Even if I imagine going out with other man,Jamie has got more of what I want.If they were better looking, taller, hunkier,I would still think that Jamie's better. He is calm,he is not a worrier, nothing is a problem. All my friends like him,and he is a man's man.He never gives me any worries."Jamie and Jolly have been married for eight years.

Summary of chapter 19-social effects of mass communication

When investigating mass communication effects it focus on scientific studies. There are 2 common methods which are survey and experiment .I have also learned about media and socialization where it is best known how individuals come to adopt behaviors and values of the group including media. Media plays an important role as a primary source of information.Learning is important part of the socialization process.Media also play important role in transmitting attitudes, perception and beliefs expecially in young people who are heavy viewers of TV ,when stereotypes oonsistently recur. For instance creating stereotypes, effects of heavy viewing and absence of alternative information are some of the effects .Then there is also known as the Cultivation analysis, where heavy TV viewing cultivates perceptions of reality consistent with the view of the world presented on TV.They are methodology, research findings and criticisms of cultivation analysis. Then when we look at Agenda Setting studies, examine information -based media ,especially political campaigns and issues.Agenda research had led to Framing research and agenda building research.Decades of surveys reveal a significant correlation between viewing violent TV and aggressive behavior in real life.Panel studies, have provided stronger evidence that there is a mutual causal connection between watching TV violence and performing aggresive behavior in real life. There are also 2 rival theories on impact of media violence are catharsis and stimulation. When we look at the complicating factors, many can influence the outcomes of experiments into the effects of violent content like experiment setting whereas Field experiment are more naturalistic where people react more naturally .Rather than that, research on prosocial behavior studies potential positive effects like helping. When we look at surveys ,survey data measure what Tv programs children watch, and how often they perform prosocial acts.Other behavior effects are political behavior are negative advertising. Then when we look at the privacy ,the widespread exchange of information has had both positive and negative consequences.Personal information is uncomfortably easy to find.Mass media also serves needs of ever more speacialized audiences where directing people to ever more selective content exposure.Last will be the escape where people could alwayz immerse themselves in world of mass media, and tune out of the real world.New technologies have caused those fears to resurface like HDTV.

Entertainment sector-Bachelor no 1,2 and 3..Dating in the Dark on blind dates.

Does personality trump appearance when you're looking for love? That's the question ABC's new reality show,Dating in the Dark, tries to answer. On the show, three bachelors are in one wing of a house while three bachelorettes are in another-and their only face-to face interaction takes place in a dark room! While they can't see each other,we can, thanks to night- version cameras. But what puts this show over the top is that even when couples make a sight-unseen love connection, they can still reject the guy or girl,or get rejected ,once they get a good look!
When you take eye contact ,body languange and physical connection out of the equation, people drop their guard. They get really serious about who they are and talk about their life, because that's really all they can do,"host Rossi Morreale,32,tells STAR."It makes for some very interesting situations!".And some very sticky ones!Rossi says that when the couples meet face-to face, they're not alwayz as indifferent to physical beauty as they thought they would be!

PREETY UGLY
"i thought guys will need a more physical connection and girls would need a more emotional one,"says Rossi,"but I was wrong.I can tell you that the girls are a little harsher than you think they would be,and a lot of guys get hurt!"And while some of the players claimed they didn't care about looks and stuck with the guy or girl of their choosing, others were a bit more shallow."There are some really beautiful girls who say they don't care what the guy looks like,'OK,I was wrong.I don't want to see him anymore!'''''' Ouch!!!!!!

Cable TV began modestly in the 1950s as a device, that brought TV to remote areas.Satellite TV transmissions gave people more reasons to subscribe to cable.Telecommunication Act of 1996 where TV companies could provide cable TV and where cable could provide telephone service.Besides that, satellite and cable systems use digital technologies to support video on demand, high definition ,tv.Cable systems also provide telephone and internet service.Based on mobile media, cable and satellite content can be sent to cell phones and all.The structure of cable TV which has distribution system.I have also learned about the programming and financing cable tv which are local operators like program sources, income sources ,expenses, national operation and income sources.Through video on demand, users search for content stored on cable, satellite company's server .VOD has been slow to catch on and it is low priority for cable companies. Then satellite tv also have structures like content providers, broadcast centers ,thus ownership trend is toward consolidation .Starting an internet channel requires only like camera and website.Based on the audience, 85% of US households subscribe to cable or satellite providers.25% of internet users watch online videos at least once a week.

Just when we thought the list of Tiger Woods's reported flings couldn't get any longer you can now throw Jessica Simpson into the mix.The pair enjoyed a flirt-fest just days before singer Jess and beau Tony Romo split in July.
Tiger ,33,invited Tony to be his partner at a golf tournament in Maryland and Jessica went along. She'd actually met Tiger before and thought he was really sexy,"says a pal."She was thrilled to be seeing him again, and even packed slinky outfits so he'd notice her.".
Notice her,he did! When Jess,29 showed up in a skimpy dress Tiger made a beeline for her, even though Tony,29,was by her side."Tiger liked what he saw and let her know it," says a source.Jess, who'd been fighting with Tony wasn't paying attention to her,so she was like,'What the hell!! reveals a source.
Over the next few days, the pair met up several times."They went out of their way to see each other,"says Jess's pal."Jess would playfully pat his chest and Tiger tenderly brushed her arm as they flirted. He made it clear he was into her.
Sources say Jess made the next move, asking the champ if he'd give her private golf lessons. As the pair exchanged digits, they saw the flirting reached fever pitch. However ,Jess has been quick to deny the rumour of an affair, describing the story as "a joke" and "a lie" on Twitter.
While Jess's sesh with tiger was just a passing flirtation, things are becoming serious between the singer and her latest beau,Smashing Pumpkins' frontman Billy Corgan. After dating for just a few months, the eager beaver's already asked Billy to move into her LA home.
A source tells NW,"Jess is totally into him and wants them to spend as much time together as possible. She hates the idea of him spending so much time in his home in Chicago,so she suggested he move in."

Summary on Chapter 2-Perspectives of Mass Communication

Chapter 2 is basically about Perspective of Mass Communication..Throughout this whole chapter i understand about 3 main things which are Paradigms,Functions Analysis and Critical or known as Cultural studies.Well what i understand about paradigms is that they are models guiding about how we think. It is relevant to mass communication process include Functional Approaches and Critical approach. They are very useful because they provide perspective to examine mass com, understand the media behaviour and help identify important elements, whereas Functional Analysis is something best understand by examining how it is used. For mass media ,this means how audience interact with media. The functions of mass comm for society are societal level, society require certain communication, some are handled by media and we must consider the consequences. The 1st ting Surveillance that is warning and instrumental, then consequesnces that will speed of propagating truth and error, anxiety and so forth. Then there is Interpretation that express the viewpoints. The consequences are wide range of contrasting viewpoints, weight all sided b4 making conclusion.Linkage is where bring together various elements of society followed by the consequences that build new groups or communities and hate groups that uses the internet.Transmission of values is where people adapt behaviours of group, followed by consequesnces that stabilize society by creating bonds. As n TV,they has great potential in socialization, violent or stereotypical content as in Entertainment that lead 2 content appeals to lowest common denominator of taste.2 ways on how people use mass media by uses-and gratifications. They are Cognition,Diversion,Social utility and withdrawal. As in Critical studies, contrast with functional approach, more qualities and examine different concepts .Basic concepts that i learned are culture, text, meaning, polysemy, ideology and hagemony.

SUMMARY OF CHAPTER 1;MASS COMMUNICATION

In its simplest form communication is the transmission of a message from a sourcer to a receiver .Hence communication is a reciprocal and ongoing process with all involve parties more or less engaged in creating shared meaning.Communication researcher Wilbur Schramm, using ideas originally developed a graphic way to represent the reciprocal nature of communication,This depiction of interpersonal communication where communication between two or a few people.Rather because communication is an ongoing and reciprocal process ,all the participants create meaning by encoding and decoding.Source and receiver may be individuals or group or maybe machine, immediate or delayed feedback, may be impossible and messages like private or public.Mass communication specifically means when a complex organization with machine aid.produces and transmit messages.Mass communication audiences are large, heterogenous, individuallyanoymous and self-selected.Mass media are channels for mass communication that transmit messages, example radio station.magazine.Mass media typically have well-defined organizational structure that involves specialization and division of labour generally a bureaucracy and yet channels of communication with organization are generally formal. The websites are affordable, bypass gatekeepers. The traditional model of mass communication was a one- two many. There are 3 convergences wich are corporate ,operational and device convergences.Small screen devices allow media to become increasingly mobile.example cell phones.

A few green facts about the World Cup

The World Cup kicked off. Many people have pulled sickies to watch it. Some work places have installed projectors with matches being played on TV. Others just find find relevant and topical ways to tie football into their jobs. Like me. So, here's your Green Guide to the World Cup. Some green facts you might not have known.

- 9 teams competing in the world cup will be wearing jerseys made from recycled plastic bottles. These teams are Brazil, the Netherlands, Portugal, England, New Zealand, Australia, Serbia, Slovenia and Korea, are among the teams who will be sporting the shirts. This process reduces energy consumption by up to 30 percent compared to standard manufacturing of virgin polyester. Apparently, Nike has prevented nearly 13 million plastic bottles going into landfill sites which would be enough to cover more than 29 football pitches.
- Africa's very first high speed train, the Gautrain, has been built, just in time for loads of people traveling to matches to board and avoid the congestion in South Africa. Top train speed is 160 km/h (100mph) and although its not that fast, it's still a big deal.
- The Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, South Africa is made from 30% reused materials form the old stadium. The stadium also has rainwater collection system, water-saving installations, energy-efficient heating and cooling systems and natural ventilation design.
